优势学科 院系设置：
本科为6个学士学院，分别为：Revelle College（瑞威尔学院），John Muir College（约翰·缪尔学院），Thurgood Marshall College（瑟古德·马歇尔学院），Earl Warren College（厄尔·沃伦学院），Eleanor Roosevelt College（埃莉诺·罗斯福学院），Sixth College（第六学院）。
不论学生选择哪个学院，他可以在加州大学圣迭戈分校所提供的任何学科里获得学士学位。但是学院向学生颁发学士文件和举行每个学员特有的毕业典礼。
研究生共设4个学部、5个学院和1个研究所，分别是：艺术与人文部（Division of Arts & Humanities），生物科学部（Division of Biological Sciences），理学部（Division of Physical Sciences），社会科学部（Division of Social Sciences），工程学院（Jacobs School of Engineering），商学院（Rady School of Management），全球政策与战略学院（School of Global Policy and Strategy），医学院（School of Medicine），药学院（Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences），海洋所（Scripps Inst. of Oceanography）。
